Keywords The Oxygen of Your Website

Keywords are the oxygen of your website. Proper use of keywords holds the key to success or failure of a website.

A lot of people does not know. Keywords are very important if you want to have visitors to your site. Imagine, how do most people find out if a particular site exist. The easiest way is to go to Google or any other search engine then type in some keywords like "Best Blogger" or "Business finance tips".

If you site is properly worded with the right keywords, and properly promoted with the proper keywords in the URL. The Search engine will be friendly to you. They will easily index your site and given proper time, you could even get the most coveted top spot of the search engines.

I am saying this based on experience. I once did an experiment about this. Targetted some keywords, did article marketing, gave it 3 weeks and Whala! I'm on the top of the search with 1.8 million returns! I jumped for joy.

Now, playing with keywords has a great potential, for generating site visitors, of making the site popular and finally of monetizing the site.

Although to make sites popular still involves a lot, like providing quality and original contents, additional value that can be provided, free downloads maybe, etc.

But all of these starts with getting your site known. The key to this are keywords.

Here are the steps in properly utilizing keywords.

1. Before you even register a domain name think of your niche.

ex. Versailles

2. Think of the best related keywords for your niche.

ex. Versailles Restaurants, versailles hotels, versailles history


3. Check the keywords using Google keyword tool

The keyword tool provides you with statistics of the keywords. this includes how many searches was made for a month, average search for a year and total number of advertisers there are.

The keyword tool is very important to determine if people are actuall looking for a website which contains the information you are providing. The point is you want to provide that information. Otherwise, your site will be barren.

How to use keywords in your site?

1. In the URL of your site make sure the keyword is included.

2. In the title of the index page of your site it should also be included.

3. In the META tag

4. In the first paragraph and a few times scattered in the body of your article. Also in the last paragraph.

There are easy ways to utilize keyword. There is a great free software that I use in this process. Aside from the above it can actually provide you with the proper keyword to use and you can even spy on other sites to see the keywords they are using.
